Overview
FlashVoice allows you to transcribe audio and video files fully offline, directly on your device.
This guide walks you through the complete workflow:
- Importing local files
- Selecting a transcription language
- Running offline transcription
- Polishing results with AI
- Exporting text or subtitle files
No files are uploaded to the cloud during this process.
Step 1: Open the Transcribe Files Page
Open FlashVoice and select Transcribe Files from the sidebar.
This page is dedicated to offline file transcription and supports both audio and video files.
Step 2: Add Local Audio or Video Files
You can add files in two ways:
- Click Add Local Audio/Video Files
- Drag and drop files directly into the window
FlashVoice supports common formats such as:
- Audio: MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, M4A
- Video: MP4
For video files, FlashVoice automatically extracts the audio track before transcription.
Step 3: Choose Transcription Language
Before starting transcription, you can select the Transcription Language.
Available options include:
- Auto Detect (default)
- Chinese Mandarin
- English
- Cantonese
- Japanese
- Korean
Selecting a specific language usually produces more accurate results, especially for long recordings or accented speech.
Step 4: Start Transcription
Once files are added and the language is selected:
- Click Start Transcription
- FlashVoice begins processing files locally
- Progress is shown under In Progress
You can switch between In Progress and Completed tabs to track transcription status.
Step 5: Review Completed Transcriptions
After transcription finishes, files appear under Completed.
Each transcription entry displays:
- File name
- Date and time
- Duration
- Detected or selected language
- A preview of the transcribed text
Click any item to open the full transcription result.
Step 6: Polish the Result with AI (Optional)
After opening a completed transcription, you can optionally use AI Correction.
AI Correction can:
- Fix recognition errors
- Improve punctuation
- Smooth sentence flow
- Make the text more readable
This step is optional and does not modify the original transcription unless you choose to apply it.
Step 7: Export the Transcription
FlashVoice supports multiple export formats:
Plain Text (TXT)
- Clean, continuous text
- Suitable for notes, documents, and drafts
Subtitle File (SRT)
- Includes timestamps
- Suitable for video subtitles and captions
You can copy the content directly or save it as a .txt or .srt file.
Tips for Best Results
- Select a specific language instead of Auto Detect when possible
- Use clear audio with minimal background noise
- Re-run AI correction if the text needs further refinement
- Export SRT when working with video content
